Apple App/iTunes password in the clear in Log file?

So every once in awhile I poke at log files in the Console application
to see what my software is saying about me. I’m just curious that way
and software is just a bunch of gossips, don’t y’know.

So I was just looking and in the App Store log, and apparently about a
month ago when I “bought” XCode 4 as my first App Store experience, I
did something that caused it to save my password in clear text in my
local log file. Can anyone recreate this? Is it already fixed?

And the Ardunio gets blinky from the Ubuntu VirtualBox, Too!

The directions in "Complete Numpties Guide to Arduino on Ubuntu" work fabulously.

The nicest part for virtual machine users is the separate step to see if the computer even sees the Arduino. This will remind you to set the virtual machine to own USB communication to the Arduino. In VirtualBox follow the menu path "Devices > USB Devices > The new one that wasn't there before that starts with an FTDI if it is an older Arduino"

A screen shot of my dmesg result is attached and so it the ls /dev/tty*?? which shows the Arduino all nice at the end of the list.??

I'm watching it blink now… mmm hypnotic….

Nice, installing Ubuntu doesn’t suck any more.

I've stayed away from Linux other than as an OS for embedded systems for a bit. For me running on the unix-like MacOS gave me what I needed, but I've been feeling some non-existent-linux-cred-angst and since I'm going to help represent CRASH space at SCALE ( http://www.socallinuxexpo.org/scale9x/ )… well… can you show up at a linux conference without Linux on your machine? That feels a tad… gauche.

I felt like I should at least have a VM up and running. And guess what. This time it didn't suck or take all day.?? Yay to me for joining the second decade of the 21st century.

Step One: Download Ubuntu and burn it to disk. (by disk I mean optical media of your choice that it fits on)

Valentine’s Day LED Heart

So this past weekend we participated in the Cinefamily Pajama Party screening of Electric Dreams. There was dancing, smashed-monitor-into-valentine’s-day-card making, photo booth action, etc. Rusty Lemorande even put in an appearance, answering questions about some of the behind the scenes action of how things went down (note to self, knowing Barbra Streisand, not a bad idea)

One of the things we brought to the table(s) were these little LED Hearts Lights. We’ve put them on Thingaverse and on Flickr. This is our first thing on Thingaverse officially. Don’t worry. We’ll make more.
